It has been many years since I have seen my old friend from high school, Cory Hallet. But I have watched him via social media and spoken with him on the phone, and I am so encouraged by his love for God and how the Lord is opening doors for him in his ministry at Covered Bridge Church in Mableton, GA.
Recently, Cory was asked to speak to the Georgia State Senate. He was personally invited by Sen. Hunter Hill. Below is a video of that opportunity and the message that he delivered as the chaplain of the day. I enjoyed listening and I know you will as well.
What's interesting is that the night before, I had forgotten that he was going to be speaking the following morning, I was out of town and, for some reason, he came to mind. It was the next morning that I saw the post on Facebook and spent some time in prayer for him as he prepared to speak. Jokingly, I sent him a message asking him if it was going to be a fire-and-brimstone, "turn or burn" type of message? He laughed and replied back and said; "No, but I'm going to stay true to The Word of God." If you watch the video below, you will see that he did exactly that,
I pray that God will continue to bless his ministry as Cory pushes forward, upstream, against the flow of the river in a world that is quickly heading with the flow, downstream towards the waterfall, and that Cory is able to rescue as many people as possible, leading them toward the calm waters of grace that is only found in Jesus Christ and in the opposite direction of the dangers the world is heading towards.
Enjoy the video. And congratulations to my friend on having such a big door open for you by the grace and mercy of God.
Sincerely;
"Sharing the Light"
