Where is your Bible?

So this morning was a repeat of most Sundays.
On our way out the door I asked my girls to get there Bibles.  I am trying to get them into the habit of taking their Bible to church.
I told them, "Church is not a club. It is a place you go to learn about God.  Would you go to school without your school book?"
They answered "No".
So I said, "Then why would you go to learn about God and not bring your Bible.  It is the most important book that has ever been written.  It is a love letter written to you by God and if you want a real relationship with him, you need to make it a part of your daily life.  Read it, and your relationship with him will be much closer then you could ever imagine.".
I went a little further with them about it, telling them that in communist China, there are Christians being persecuted, just for having a Bible in their possession.   I told them about a video, taken of a group of Christians in China that received Bibles for the first time, and how they were so overjoyed and crying because they FINALLY had a copy of Gods word.  Kissing it and holding it close to them.  Amazing.
I found the video and showed it my kids.  I think they got the point.
Check it out!!

What a beautiful site.

  1. There is very little that I find more uplifting than the sound of Bible pages rustling during a church service. While there is a comfort and peace that is transferred to us during our conversations (prayer) with God, his will and way is not dropped in our laps like a V8 commercial. Correction...........maybe it is but we must have discernment and wisdom to fully understand what God is trying to tell/show us. The Bible is the blueprint of those traits. I find myself struggling to open my Bible and truly study the word rather than quickly trying to get what I must read so I can fully complete todays devotion. As we dive deeper into God's word we make connect the perfect marriage of study/devotion of the Bible with our prayer life to get the full relationship with God. Keep strong and disciplined in reading and studying your Bible. You will find what God has in store for you. Besides, your pastor loves the sound himself.......it shows him you are listening. Even they need the encouragement.

    - God bless
